Getting Back To Routine
When was the last time you visited our office for a routine hygiene examination and cleaning? If it has been longer than six months since your last visit, you are due for a cleaning. With the start of the new year just behind us, now is the perfect time to schedule a visit for you and your loved ones. Even if you take excellent care of your teeth each day by thoroughly brushing and flossing, we still need to check them regularly. Read on to learn about why we are so passionate about regular dental care for you and your family.
Reasons We Recommend Oral Hygiene Examinations
We recommend the majority of our patients visit our office for dental cleanings at least twice a year. That means that patients are responsible for taking care of their teeth the other 363 days of the year. Even if you thoroughly brush and floss your teeth every day, we still recommend biannual visits to our office. It can be very easy for bacteria to build up on teeth and cause issues such as plaque. During dental cleanings, our team can properly remove lingering plaque and tartar from your teeth. When you miss dental appointments, plaque will continue to accumulate, leading to issues such as cavities.
Don’t Forget About Teens and Children
Not only do adults need regular dental care, but teens and children do as well. Just like adults, children and teens should be visiting the dentist every six months. This includes infants! You may be surprised to learn that once a baby’s first teeth emerge, they are ready for their first dentist appointment. It is important for us to be sure there is no decay, and we also need to check the way the baby and adult teeth are emerging. We will also discuss whether orthodontic treatment is necessary at this time.
